The Hungarian Film Festival of Los Angeles is unique and amazing. It has established itself as a
primary showcase of Hungarian Cinema and provides an opportunity for the filmmakers to share their
creative works.  Our aim each year is to take a thorough look and highlight the richness of new Hungarian
    cinema.

We have a reputation with the film community and critics alike as screening only quality films and
    documentaries.

Film has always been the cultural envoy to the world and Hungary has been one of its greatest
contributors both in Europe and America.  Hungary’s films have always shown the human experience in
all its diversity while showing the similarities we all share, for film speaks to us in a  truly international
language with the ability to communicate on an emotional and intellectual level. Our selections each year
attract every kind of interest from art films to commercial films not forgetting brilliant documentaries and
    experimental films.

Hungary has proven over and over again that it is one of the greatest contributors to the film industry.
Starting with Korda,  William Fox, George Cukor and following with Oscar winners Istvan Szabo, Vilmos
Zsigmond, and such film greats as Miklos Jancso, Karoly Makk, Bela Tarr ………

The Hungarian Film Festival of Los Angeles helps to keep Hungary’s film industry alive and well in
America while bringing the best entertainment it has to offer.
